04 My Boy Lollipop

This sweet song describes our boy Jaden perfectly! He is the sweetest grandson, we couldn’t be more blessed!

So, Jaden is really quite an amazing kid, and I’m not one bit biased! :o) He puts so much thought into the gifts that he is going to give G’ma and Pops. This past Christmas, once again his artistic abilities shined through! And he knows, just what each of us loves! Continue reading

07 I Feel Fine Enjoy the song

The workstation is set up! AND, we have an apprentice  jewelry maker in the house! I’m so excited! I’ve always wanted him to join in, however, it took PaPa getting involved to realize that boys can make great jewelry makers too!

it’s a beautiful morning

01 A Beautiful Morning

So, here it is a Saturday and I’m doing what I love best…let the moment guide me to happiness! Yes, of course I have plans, rather HAD plans for this wonderful day! But, my favorite thing on my day off is a little bit of this, a little bit of that! The day usually doesn’t progress quite like my initial plans as they were forming in my mind as I lay still trying to open my sleepy eyes! Somehow, the garden always deviates me a bit from the master plan (although “the plan” is always open to revision and rewriting!) (Another pretty song to enjoy 12 Good Morning Starshine

So Jaden is here with us for the weekend! This is always a welcome addition to the weekend agenda! The adventures began last night….first Culvers for dinner followed by ice cream! (they have nothing that I would consider anywhere near the caloric intake I would have liked to have for dinner….I’m sure the veggie burger and cheese fries were beyond my daily limit of calories!) But, after all it was fun Friday, right? So somehow, a trip to Crystal Lake for an ink cartridge, somehow resulted in Culvers, ice cream, an iPod cover and a new xBox game….and they didn’t even have the ink cartridge! I guess that’s what happens when your grandson is with you….the evening gets revised and rewritten!  But he is so worth it! :o)

My little buddy keeps checking out the blog, waiting to see what I might put in my blog about him! Gosh, G’Ma can’t get away with anything, however, he’s gone now so I can put in a pic from a bit ago! tee hee hee!

So, the day is a simple one here for all of us!  I started out walking around gazing at the bushes and flowers beginning to pop open in the yard…which is why tomorrow will be a trip to the nursery for some new blooms to purchase! And, all of us here are occupying ourselves in our own bit of happiness. Jaden is playing xBox, Savannah is sleeping, I’m doing a bit of this and that, and PaPa is getting the garage cleaned.

But, I couldn’t let the day pass without sharing a few more magnolia blooms pics! It’s rare here in Illinois when these early blooming trees don’t get ruined from the irregular spring temperatures. Usually as these blooms are forming, we get some sort of cold weather or frost and the petals often get the edges browned or the petals start to fall after just a couple of days! But this year, spring has sprung early and the yard is filled with the beginnings of beautiful spring blooms! I see hostas popping us, Lilac buds forming, my Quince bushes coral buds forming, the Columbine’s beautiful leaves have emerged from the soil, and, well, many more beauties just waiting for a bit more warmth and sunshine!

So, I’ll leave you with a pretty flower and a pretty song and wish for a great weekend! Enjoy the song!

01 Just the Way You Are

Now, onto my jewelry making! :o)

A Dog’s Life

So, it’s been so long since I’ve written on my blog! I’ve been a less than my cheerful self lately. Life has it highs and it’s lows and sometimes somewhere in between. And, being the emotional creature that I am,  I tend to sort things out on my own. I love music, and lately it’s been girl power songs, so take a minute to enjoy this song by Kelly Clarkson.02 Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)

You know, I am a pretty lucky lady! I have a really big fan club! I have my sister Suze,  my friend Allison, and of course Mike…they love EVERY piece of jewelry I make. They are so inspiring! But sometimes…it just happens… I get in a lull and not so inspired.

Karen's Lanyard

So, out of the blue I get a note from a lady about wanting a lanyard! Karen was browsing on my LindaGeezToo etsy page, and found me. Well, I never made one, but it’s something that I have thought about doing!  But, if you’re like me it’s on the long list of things I want to make! (let me rephrase that, Mike thought that was something I should make! Heck I didn’t even know what a lanyard was….but he was thinking more for fly fishing! He likes giving me jewelry tips! He’s such a fashionista! :o) LOL, really?)

So, back to the story…SO, all it took was one little conversation for me to recognize that this lady sounded like a kind soul, someone I would LOVE to make something for! She talked about wanting crystal and moonstone and maybe pink, and little dog charms and chakra inspired! So, this was the beginning of a very nice friendship forming, I could just tell! Well, after several emails, I felt a real desire to make something this kind soul would LOVE! And, I did! But the best part about it, she LOVED it too! But, let’s backup a bit…even before I started her lovely lanyard, Karen and I spoke often, the wonders of today’s electronic world! I just love that about technology today. I have met wonderful people that I never would have had the opportunity to meet had I not had an Etsy account and email! To my surprise though, not only did we have a love for our doggies, but a lot of similarities! We talked about her volunteering her time to help homeless animals, and animal therapy, and gardening and making soap and love of herbs,  and simply just wonderful conversation!  I have so many wonderful people that I have met, such lovely experiences. One kind soul reaching to another, just as it should be! Like I say often, “All You Need is Love” Listen to one of my favorite songs by the Beatles 1-18 All You Need Is Love

So, her lanyard is now done! I LOVE it, but I’m happy to say Karen LOVES it at well! Lots of love went into making this and I’m sending her good energy and her beautiful lanyard tomorrow! But, there is another really sweet thing about Karen that I must share! Even before I finished her lanyard, Karen was so sweet and sent me a package filled with some of her favorite flower seeds and herbs! What a sweetheart! That was the beginning of my thoughts shifting from blues to inspiration. Thank you Karen!

So, I must say, I DO believe in angels, just when I was thinking that life is a bummer, somehow my guardian angel pulls through again! Count your blessings, be grateful, don’t waste your precious life being blue, and believe! Enjoy this beautiful song by Sarah McLachlan 14 Angel

Natural Kingman Turquoise, Swarovski Crystal, Natural leather

Karen's Lanyard

So, thank you my friends for inspiring me! And now, my mind is spinning with new styles and new ideas and my inspiration is once again flowing! So, more leather & crystal is ordered, great gemstones chosen, and a wonderful friend is on the waiting list for her very special long and beautiful leather, crystal and gemstone necklace!

So, take a moment to browse my Etsy shops! I’m sure you will enjoy it, and feel free to send me a conv0…that’s Etsy talk for send an email to me!

Love and Peace…Linda

One Lucky G-ma!

Jaden the Rock Star!

07 You Baby click to listen to this sweet song!

ring ring….as I answered the phone this afternoon at work. “Grandma, can I come over tonight!”

I rushed home tonight to greet our little sweetie! Oh, not here yet….good, I had a little time to let Savannah out and get his bagels and cream cheese away….just in case! Grandma always has to be prepared!

Gems and Stones for Grandmas Jewelry

So, I just started up my computer to get some labels and things printed to happily ship my Etsy orders, when I hear Jaden upstairs! “GRANDMA! running down the stairs! “I have something for you!” So, he comes running in with a Ziploc bag full of  “Gems” for me to make jewelry! (Talk about my heart just melting!) So I open the bag and dump the rocks out on my desk. The super smooth white ones, I found….Kyle, my friend found this one….little Jayden found this one! “I like all the white ones” , I said. “I found all those white ones Grandma!”

These are the things that make parenting the best thing ever! How cool is it when a little one not only thinks of you all on his own, but then has him and his friends go digging for “Gems & Stones” for his grandma to make jewelry! I would have loved to have been there to witness this! Imagine all these little guys running in the house to Mom! Muddy hands open, “Mom, we were digging for “Gems and Stones for Grandma for her to make jewelry! Real gems! She can sell ’em on Etsy! They’re so HUGE, she’ll probably be rich!”

Jaden's Shop

Did I ever tell you how much Jaden loves Etsy, yep, he does! Every year he grows up so much! But, I remember when he would sit on my lap and we would browse Etsy! It inspired Jaden so much! In fact, I had an Open House at our home for my jewelry. Jaden was SO excited. So, I get a phone call the night before my Open House….”Grandma….could I have my own table to sell the ornaments that I am making?”  Well I was so excited, “Yes, of course you could!” He was such a little salesmen! He did great! I think every person that came would have bought one…but he sold out before everyone could get one of their own!

It’s a Snowy Day!

01 Chasing Cars (Live) Click to Enjoy the song!

It’s a great day to stay in, sip on hot chocolate and enjoy each others company!  We decided about 5+ years ago, we were through with outside maintenance, and boy, what a great decision it has been! So, although we had to do a bit of shoveling out, after all we couldn’t even open our doors, the major part is being done for us! Thank goodness!

So, if you are in a sunny warm state, lucky you! This storm has been a doozy! Ok, here’s where the age comes out in me….it’s a bit scary! We are totally snowed in! Seriously! I was actually texting people at 3:00am, crazy I know! I figured, they would get it when they arose in the morning! And happy no one answered back actually, then I knew everyone was comfy cozy and asleep….but me!

I am not going out there! No way!

I finally did get up, very early, with Savannah! I knew she would not like this! I wonder, could this Lassie get Timmy out of the well! giggle! She’s just our girl…a little prissy, but that’s just fine with me! Poor girl, paced around until I was finally able to clear the way for her!

But, of course, everyone wasn’t worried like me! Jaden was ecstatic! Jaden was fb’ing last night with photos of him in the snow! After all, snow days ARE for kids! That feeling of unexpected pleasure, will last with you a life time! All he thought about was all the fun he would have today! Ahh! So, look at how much fun he was having! What a blast for him!
