05-brand-new-day(click to hear the music, it will download and you can enjoy listening to while you read this post!) It’s early in the morning and still very quiet in the house! Not too early as I like to take my days off of work a little slow. Rise Naturally! This morning, I was awakened by the raindrops – softly tapping on the roof and windows. The light was soft and hazy, peeking thru my bedroom window. And, as usual I lay and think of the things I would like to do today. The thoughts roll over and are revised in my mind. OK, so now I’m up with a cup of coffee and a notebook. I want to enjoy the soft light so, I decided the living room, on my sofa with my favorite pillow is where I shall write this morning!
It’s the day before Easter. Thoughts of years earlier and Easter baskets and colored eggs and blooming flowers….all collage in my mind. In Illinois, one never knows if the flowers will be in attendance for Easter or the snow will still be on the ground. I’m happy to say, the weather was glorious this week, so flowers it is! It felt perfect driving with the windows down, the music on, and the sun shining. Spring has SPRUNG! So along with the beautiful weather comes the rich rewards this good earth brings to us! FLOWERS! Not too many blooming, but enough to instill in me hope for a brighter tomorrow! Spring does that to me. Things always seem more cheerful when the flowers are in bloom. Something new happens miraculously all on it’s own, each and everyday! Perennial flowers, flowering bushes and trees are my favorite. Just when you thought you couldn’t take another moment more of winter, a little tiny bit of color overnight pops up to show the world it’s beauty! The daffodils, how I love them….dressed up like little Easter bonnets. Crocus, purple ones are my favorite and the magnolias-all that blooming commotion is going on right now. My neighbors white star mognolias are the first magnolias that I see blooming so far! My Crabapple trees and Rhododendrums are still a bit sleepy, not yet ready to show their colors. As, I walked around my home yesterday, absorbing and observing-my calculation, a week of warm weather and the blooming will begin! I already see the bleeding hearts up about 4 inches, the poppies have a nice crown of leaves already bursting, and the Clematis is getting anxious too!
Well even with the haze and rain, I hear the birds anxious to begin their day – perhaps I should too! I feel like the days go waayyyy tooo fast! Perhaps age does that to me, or perhaps just wanted to hold onto early spring and it’s magic.
Everyone have a wonderful holiday! Enjoy the early blooms and look forward to more flowers ahead!
Love and Peace,
